About the VPH Charity Scramble
After moving to Vermont from Pennsylvania in 2008, I started the VPH Charity Scramble tournament in order to get friends and family together at least once a year. Although I originally started the event selfishly as an excuse to come home and see everyone, I always knew I wanted to grow the tournament each year and eventually hoped to be able to give back to the community in which I grew up (and some might say terrorized!) so many years ago.

Over the past five years, we have grown the VPH Charity Scramble from 20 players in 2008 to over 80 players in 2012.  In 2010, my wife, Rachel, and I decided to move forward with making the event a charity tournament.  We wanted the tournament to be able to help an organization that focused on the welfare of kids in the Reading, PA, area.

After learning more about the Children’s Home of Reading, we knew they could really use our help. Through the donations of silent auction and raffle prize items, generous players in the VPH Charity Scramble have helped to donate over $9,000 to the Children’s Home of Reading since 2010.

Thanks for playing, everyone!
